The Ameraucana chicken was first developed in the United States in the 1970s. It was derived from the Araucana chicken, which originates from Chile. It was bred to keep the blue color of the eggs without lethal alleles of the Araucana chicken.

The Ameraucana chicken can be bred for multiple purposes however its main purpose would be eggs as it produces a lovely unique blue color. It’s a medium-sized chicken which is between 6lbs and 7lbs in weight. It comes in a number of different varieties such as Wheaten, Blue, Black, Blue Wheaten, Brown Red, Buff Silver, and White.     They are truly docile and go well with cold environments they also get along with at her chickens easily, however they have a chicken mind of their own!
